iGaming platform: casino and sportsbook on one system
An iGaming platform is a casino platform that also carries sport. The interesting part is not that it has both products, but that they share one wallet, one player record and one back office — and what goes wrong when they do not.

What the word is doing
'iGaming' is the industry's umbrella term for online real-money gambling: casino, sportsbook, poker, bingo and lottery. An iGaming platform is therefore a platform that can carry more than one of those under a single operation.
In practice the term almost always means casino plus sportsbook, because that is the combination most operators run. The two products have complementary economics — sport acquires around events at thin margins, casino retains and monetises — and running both from one system is what makes the combination worth having.
One wallet, or two products pretending
The difference between a genuine iGaming platform and two systems sold together shows up in the wallet. If a player deposits once and that balance covers both a spin and a bet, you have one platform. If they hold a casino balance and a sports balance and move money between them, you have two products and an integration.
The single-wallet version is better for the player and considerably better for you. Cross-sell works because there is nothing to transfer. Bonus mechanics can span products. Reconciliation is one exercise. And the player's lifetime value is a number you can actually compute rather than a join across two databases.
The place it gets genuinely hard is risk. Casino risk is statistical and immediate; sports risk is positional and lives until an event settles. Sharing a wallet does not mean sharing a risk model, and a platform that pretends otherwise will surprise you during a big fixture.
Where the products join
Shared below the line, separate above it. That division is the whole design.

What to check before choosing one
- Is the wallet genuinely shared?
- Ask whether a player can bet on sport with a balance deposited for casino, without a transfer step. The answer separates a platform from a bundle.
- One player record or two?
- KYC, limits and self-exclusion must apply across both products. A player excluded from casino who can still bet on sport is a compliance failure, not a feature.
- Does the bonus engine span products?
- If it only understands casino events, half your promotional toolkit is unavailable on the product you acquire with.
- One back office or two logins?
- The operational cost of two consoles is paid daily, by the people least able to complain about it.
- How is settlement reconciled?
- Sports settle late, sometimes days late, and sometimes get corrected. Ask how a resettlement flows into the ledger.
Common questions
Do I have to launch both products at once?
No. The sportsbook is switched on during the Games and Sports step and can be enabled later. Many operators launch casino first because it needs less operational attention.
Is iGaming platform the same as casino platform?
A casino platform carries casino. An iGaming platform carries casino and at least one other vertical, in practice usually sport. Casinofy is the second.
Can players use one balance across both?
Yes — one player record and one wallet cover both products, so there is no transfer step.
Who manages the odds and trading?
Trading sits with the sportsbook engine behind the integration slot. Casinofy carries the product, the wallet and the settlement into the ledger.
